History of Corpus Christi College/Linacre College AFC

Corpus-Linacre are an amalgamation of Corpus Christi and Linacre colleges and compete in both the JCR and MCR leagues. In the MCR league, the team is predominantly made up of players from Linacre, whereas in the JCR league the majority of players are from Corpus Christi. Corpus-Linacre are a team with little success over the years in the JCR league with the exception of the strong team of the late 1990s that won the First division title in 1998/99. Since then Corpus-Linacre have sunk to the lower reaches of the inter-college league, although last season only narrowly missed out on promotion from division 2. Corpus-Linacre are more famous as one of the powerhouses of the MCR league - they won MCR Cuppers 3 times in a row between 1995 and 1997 and were runners up in the same competition in 2005 and 2006.
